The French word for sunflower is "tournesol", which means "turns with the sun". Can't you see it happening here in my oil landscape painting of the warm yellow petals ! When summer arrives I imagine myself walking along narrow roads in Tuscany, Itlay, enjoying the sunflower fields. I became taken with these large blooms while there. . Each year during the Holidays, I fill my containers with fresh greenery from magnolia, pine, and holly trees gathered from nearby woods. When looking at this painting, one can smell the fresh fragrance of the greens.
